Morso 1010 Cast Iron Stove on Legs
Morso 1010 is a freestanding cast iron stove from the Danish brand Morso with a nominal output of 4.9 kW, sized for rooms of up to 90 m². In this version the body stands on four cast iron legs. Thermal efficiency is 84.8 %, energy class A.
The body weighs 67 kg and is made entirely of cast iron. Cast iron heats up more slowly than steel but keeps releasing heat long after the fire has burnt down — the room temperature does not swing between refuellings. A flat front pane shows the firebox head-on. The model meets Ecodesign requirements.

Version on legs — the body raised off the floor
The stove rests on four cast iron legs. The raised body makes the stove look lighter and lets you vacuum underneath without moving tens of kilograms of cast iron. This is the most classic mounting option — it suits traditional and modern interiors alike.
Is 4.9 kW enough for my house?
The model is rated for roughly 90 m² with standard insulation and a ceiling height of 2.5–2.7 m. In a poorly insulated building, one with large glazed areas or a higher ceiling, the real figure will be lower — in that case pick the next power class up. An oversized stove is just as troublesome, though: for most of the season it runs on a low flame, which soots up the glass and the flue faster.
Will it work in a house with heat recovery ventilation?
The manufacturer states that this stove is suitable for use with heat recovery ventilation, but the model has no factory external air spigot — combustion air is taken from the room. In an airtight building with mechanical ventilation this means a separate air inlet to the room has to be provided. Agree the solution with your installer before buying.
What chimney and space does the stove need?
A flue of Ø120 mm, with the outlet at the top or rear. The stove measures 388 × 708 × 368 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 67 kg — check the load capacity of the floor before installation. Required clearances to walls and combustible materials are given in the manufacturer's manual, available in the documents section on this page.
What fuel should be used?
The fuel is seasoned hardwood with a moisture content of up to 20 %. Wet wood gives noticeably less heat, smokes up the glass and speeds up soot deposits in the flue. Chipboard, painted or impregnated timber and waste must not be burnt in this stove — they shorten the life of the cast iron and void the warranty.
