Warranty

Three brands are presented on this website. Each of them is covered by a warranty granted by a different entity, so we begin by explaining who to address a claim to.

In the event of a lack of conformity of the goods with the contract, the buyer has legal remedies from and at the expense of the seller. These warranties do not affect those remedies.

Who grants the warranty

  • KAWMET — cast iron fireplace inserts and freestanding stoves. Guarantor: ODLEWNIA „KAW-MET” MAREK KAWIŃSKI Sp. z o.o., the manufacturer of these products.
  • SAVEN — steel fireplace inserts, cassettes, stoves and ventilation grilles. Guarantor: KOMINERA sp. j. — the entity that places these products on the European Union market and bears responsibility for them.
  • Morsø — Danish cast iron stoves. The warranty is granted by the manufacturer, Morsø A/S, and in Poland it is administered by KOMINERA sp. j. as the brand's distributor.

The seller — the entity against which you have statutory rights for a lack of conformity of the goods with the contract — is whoever you bought the appliance from: an authorised dealer, or KOMINERA sp. j. if the purchase was made directly. The manufacturer's warranty operates independently of those rights and does not limit them.

Warranty for KAWMET products

At KAWMET we manufacture cast iron fireplace inserts and freestanding stoves with many years of trouble-free operation in mind. Below we explain the rules of the warranty, how long it lasts and the rights you have when buying.

What the warranty covers

The warranty covers cast iron fireplace inserts and freestanding stoves of the KAWMET brand, placed on the market by the guarantor and bought from authorised sellers.

Spare parts and accessories bought separately — doors, grates, glass panes, deflectors, hearth plates and components of the hot air distribution system — are covered by a 24-month warranty from the date of their purchase, in respect of material and manufacturing defects.

Display appliances and appliances sold at a reduced price because of an identified defect are covered by the warranty on general terms, excluding the defect expressly indicated at the time of sale.

Warranty period

The warranty period runs from the date the appliance is handed over to the buyer, confirmed by the proof of purchase or the warranty card. If that date cannot be established, we take the date of purchase.

ApplianceWarranty period
KAWMET fireplace inserts60 months (5 years)
Models W6, W9, W9A, L12, W13, W13A24 months (2 years)
KAWMET Premium ECO stoves60 months (5 years)
KAWMET Modern ECO stoves60 months (5 years)
KAWMET Standard ECO stoves24 months (2 years)

For spare parts, accessories and appliances not listed above, the warranty period is given on the warranty card supplied with the appliance.

Territorial scope

The KAWMET warranty is valid in the territory of the Republic of Poland. Appliances bought from authorised distributors outside Poland are covered by a warranty administered by the distributor from whom the purchase was made, on the terms in force in the country of sale.

What the warranty includes

The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects of the appliance arising from causes inherent in it, revealed within the warranty period. In such a case we provide free repair and, if repair proves impossible or excessively difficult, replacement of the appliance with one free of defects. We decide how a claim is handled after inspecting the appliance; if an expert opinion is needed for the assessment, we commission it and cover its cost.

Repair or replacement under the warranty is free of charge for the person entitled — we make no charge for parts, labour, transport or the service call-out.

Conditions of use

For the warranty to be honoured, the appliance should be installed and used in accordance with the manual. Please remember that:

  • Installation of the insert or stove should be carried out in accordance with the installation, operating and maintenance manual and the applicable regulations, by a suitably qualified person — for example a stove fitter, an installer of solid fuel heating appliances or a master chimney sweep. We recommend drawing up a technical acceptance report and obtaining a chimney sweep's opinion on the flue; these documents considerably speed up the handling of any claim.
  • The appliance should be operated in accordance with the operating manual and fired only with the recommended fuel — dry wood with a moisture content below 20%.
  • The enclosure around an insert should allow it to be removed and refitted without damaging the surround. If the surround has been built in a way that makes removal impossible, we will still carry out the warranty repair, but we do not cover the cost of dismantling and rebuilding the surround and are not liable for damage to it.
  • We recommend using the manufacturer's original spare parts. Using a non-original part excludes the warranty only in respect of damage resulting from it.
  • Modifications to the appliance and changes to its construction exclude the warranty in respect of damage resulting from them.
  • We recommend replacing the seals before each heating season — this is the basic maintenance task on which tightness and correct combustion depend.
  • The warranty card states the installation address; this serves only to establish where a repair is to be carried out. Moving the appliance does not void the warranty; we only ask to be informed of the new address.

Failure to observe the above rules excludes the warranty only in respect of the damage that results from it. Material and manufacturing defects unrelated to the way the appliance was installed, operated or to the parts used remain covered by the warranty.

What the warranty does not cover

  • glass panes and seals — these are consumable parts;
  • combustion chamber components in direct contact with the burning fuel (grate, deflector, log guards, hearth plate, decorative strips) — in respect of their natural wear in use; material and casting defects in these components are covered by the warranty on general terms;
  • damage caused by improper storage, transport, installation, operation or maintenance contrary to the manual, and in particular by: using fuel other than wood, overloading the firebox with wood, firing too intensively in a cold firebox, flooding the firebox with water, mechanical damage, incorrect flue draught and corrosion (the appliance must be protected from damp);
  • damage resulting from repairs or modifications carried out by persons not authorised by the manufacturer.

Discolouration and the natural fading of the patina is a natural phenomenon occurring during normal use and is not a product defect or grounds for a complaint.

Adhesives that permanently bond glass to metal must not be used to fit the glass — a pane fitted in this way is not covered by the warranty.

The warranty card

Please keep the warranty card together with the proof of purchase for the whole warranty period — it is the simplest way of confirming the date and subject of the purchase.

Losing the card does not deprive you of your warranty rights. The date of purchase and the fact that the appliance is covered can be shown with the proof of purchase and, if necessary, we will establish them from the rating plate number and our production records. On the buyer's request we issue a duplicate warranty card.

A missing date, stamp or seller's signature on the card, as well as corrections made by unauthorised persons, do not cause the warranty to lapse — they only mean that we will establish the start of the warranty period from the proof of purchase or, failing that, from the appliance's date of manufacture.

The warranty period after a repair

If, in performing our warranty obligations, we replace the appliance with one free of defects or carry out a substantial repair on it, the warranty period starts afresh from the day the defect-free appliance is delivered or the repaired appliance is returned. The same applies accordingly to a replaced part. In other cases the warranty period is extended by the time during which, because of the defect, you were unable to use the appliance.

Transfer of the warranty

The warranty is attached to the appliance rather than to the person of the buyer and passes to every subsequent owner of the appliance while it is in force. Please hand the warranty card and the proof of purchase over to the new owner.

Warranty for Morsø stoves

Morsø cast iron stoves are covered by the manufacturer's warranty — Morsø A/S, based in Denmark. In Poland the warranty is administered by the brand's distributor, KOMINERA sp. j.

The warranty covers the stove body for 10 years. Other components — in particular glass panes, seals and firebox parts in direct contact with the fire — are covered for the periods given in the operating manual and the warranty card supplied with the appliance.

The warranty is valid in the territory of the Republic of Poland. Stoves bought outside Poland are covered by a warranty administered by the brand's distributor in the country of purchase.

Please address warranty claims to KOMINERA or to the sales point where you made the purchase. The manufacturer's full warranty terms are supplied with the appliance and we make them available on request.

Warranty for SAVEN products

The warranty for SAVEN steel fireplace inserts, cassettes, stoves and ventilation grilles is granted by KOMINERA M. Kawiński, S. Holubiak, A. Moroz, A. Berezdetskyi Spółka jawna, ul. Krakowska 11, 37-716 Orły, Poland, KRS 0000995883, NIP 7952572032.

KOMINERA places SAVEN products on the European Union market and bears responsibility for them — including as the entity responsible for their conformity with the requirements applicable in the Union.

The standard warranty period is 60 months (5 years). For selected products the period may differ — the warranty card supplied with the appliance is decisive.

A printed warranty card is supplied with every product. The declaration of performance, technical data sheet, product fiche and remaining documentation are available in Polish at saven.ua.

The warranty is valid in the territory of the Republic of Poland. Products bought outside Poland are covered by a warranty administered by the distributor from whom the purchase was made, on the terms in force in the country of sale.

Please address warranty claims to KOMINERA or to the sales point where you made the purchase.

Making a warranty claim

The rules below apply to all three brands.

In the claim please give: the brand and model of the appliance and the number on the rating plate, the date of purchase and the date of commissioning, a description of the fault (photographs or a video are welcome), the installation address and your contact details. Please attach the proof of purchase and — if you have them — the warranty card and the technical acceptance report.

We reply to a claim within 14 days of receiving it. If the claim is incomplete, we will tell you within 7 days what is missing.

We carry out a warranty repair or replacement within 30 days of the appliance being made available to us for repair or, for an incomplete claim, from the day the documents are completed. Because of the nature of the product, repair or replacement takes place as a rule where the appliance is installed; the guarantor bears the cost of the service call-out.

If the inspection shows that the appliance is sound and the reported problem results from the installation, the condition of the flue, the type of fuel or the way it is operated, we will tell you before starting any chargeable work and will present the cost of any non-warranty repair. The cost of the inspection and the call-out themselves is not charged to the person making the claim in such a case.

The warranty and your statutory rights

The manufacturer's warranty is a voluntary undertaking granted in addition to statutory rights, not instead of them. The choice of the basis on which to pursue a claim — the warranty from the guarantor or statutory rights from the seller — belongs solely to the buyer (Article 579 of the Polish Civil Code).

The exclusions described above apply only to the voluntary warranties. They do not limit the rights the buyer has against the seller by operation of law.

A consumer — a natural person making a purchase not directly connected with their business or professional activity. Such a person has rights for lack of conformity of the goods with the contract, set out in Chapter 5a of the Polish Act of 30 May 2014 on consumer rights. The seller is liable for a lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery and revealed within two years of that moment; a lack of conformity revealed in that period is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery unless proved otherwise.

An entrepreneur with consumer rights — a natural person running a business who concludes a contract directly connected with that business, where it is clear from the contract that it is not of a professional character for them. Under Article 7aa of the Consumer Rights Act, the provisions of Chapter 5a apply to such a person in the same way as to a consumer. This right does not extend to companies or other legal persons.

Other buyers (professional, B2B trade) — have rights under the statutory warranty for defects on the terms set out in the Civil Code (Article 556 et seq.).

If a dispute arises

If you do not agree with our position, a consumer may seek help from the district or municipal consumer ombudsman or from a social organisation dealing with consumer protection, and may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures — in particular before the voivodeship inspector of the Trade Inspection. Information about the available procedures can be found at uokik.gov.pl.

Personal data provided in a warranty claim is processed solely for the purpose of handling it. The rules are described in our Privacy policy.

The full warranty terms are also contained in the warranty card supplied with the product and in the operating, installation and maintenance manual for the given appliance. In the event of any discrepancy between these terms, the warranty card and the manual, the provision more favourable to the person entitled under the warranty applies.

These terms apply to appliances purchased from 6 August 2026. Document version 1.2. A change to the warranty terms does not affect appliances purchased before the change takes effect.

This is a translation. In the event of any discrepancy, the Polish version of these warranty terms prevails.
