KAWMET HARITA S15i Leg Decor ECO Freestanding Stove
KAWMET HARITA S15i Leg Decor ECO is a wood-burning freestanding stove from the Polish foundry KAWMET with a nominal output of 6.5 kW, sized for rooms of up to 65 m² (up to 163 m³). A flat front pane shows the firebed head-on. Thermal efficiency is 80.3 %, energy class A.
The body is made of steel, while the parts under the greatest thermal load — the door, grate and flame guard — are cast iron. This combination heats up faster than an all-cast-iron design while keeping durability where it matters most. A built-in vermiculite baffle raises the combustion temperature and extends the path of the flue gases, and the heat-resistant Robax pane withstands temperatures up to 800 °C.

The Decor version — a black glass frame
In the Decor version the pane is surrounded by a black decorative frame and the glazed area is noticeably larger than in the standard version. The front becomes more graphic and the fire itself more prominent. The thermal figures of both versions are identical; the difference comes down to appearance and a few kilograms of weight.
The Leg pedestal — the stove on legs
In the Leg version the body rests on slim legs, giving an overall height of 1107 mm. The firebox sits higher than in the Basic version, so the fire is clearly visible when standing, and the open space beneath the stove tidies up the form and makes cleaning easier.
Cast iron lining (the “i” designation)
The letter i in the model name denotes a cast iron lining of the firebox walls. Cast iron stores heat and releases it long after the fire is out — the room cools down more slowly, but it also warms up more slowly after lighting. This variant suits people who burn regularly and value a steady temperature over a quick effect.
The KAWMET Modern ECO range — a stove built from modules
HARITA S15i Leg Decor comes from the KAWMET Modern ECO range, in which the same body is combined with one of four bases — Basic, Leg, S-Box or L-Box — and one of two firebox linings. The stove is matched to the interior rather than the other way round.
The body is steel, while the door, grate and flame guard are cast iron. Steel heats up faster than cast iron, so the room warms up soon after lighting; the cast iron parts take over the points under the greatest thermal load. A factory-fitted heat shield allows the stove to stand just 20 cm from the wall.
Is 6.5 kW enough to heat my house?
The model is rated for roughly 65 m² with standard insulation and a ceiling height of 2.5–2.7 m. In a poorly insulated building, one with large glazed areas or a higher ceiling, the real figure will be lower. Oversizing is harmful too, however: for most of the season the appliance then runs on a low flame, which soots up the glass and the flue faster.
Does it need an external air supply?
The model is designed for it, and in an airtight building with mechanical ventilation or heat recovery it is the recommended solution — without its own air supply, ventilation can reverse the flue draught. In an older building with natural ventilation an external air supply is not essential, but it usually makes combustion more stable. The connection parts (inlet, orifice, pipe) are ordered separately — they are not part of the set.
What chimney and space does the stove require?
A flue of Ø150 mm, with the outlet at the top or rear. The stove measures 423 × 1107 × 385 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 127 kg. Required clearances to walls and combustible materials are given in the manufacturer's manual, available in the documents section on this page.
What fuel should be used?
The fuel is seasoned hardwood with a moisture content of up to 20 %. The maximum log length is 350 mm. Wet wood gives noticeably less heat, smokes up the glass and speeds up soot deposits in the flue. Chipboard, painted or impregnated timber and waste must not be burnt — they shorten the life of the cast iron and void the warranty.
